Design is Life.

“We think of creativity as a way of keeping everything fresh and new, while habit implies routine and repetition. That paradox intrigues me because it occupies the place where creativity and skill rub up against each other.”-Twyla Tharp

This paradox, I believe, is the quintessential picture of my life as a designer and communicator. When I’m asked to describe what I do for a living, I often present my occupation as the perfect merging of both sides of my brain: the artistic one and the (sometimes obsessively) organized one. During my experience in the creative world I’ve had the opportunity to explore this paradox even more deeply and learn the dance that allows both sides to be strengthened.

I’ve had a heart for design since I was child, but didn’t always know it. I have a background with event and retail management, hand-lettering, and even music: all creative endeavors that eventually led me to study graphic design. I can bring big ideas to life with my belief that good design doesn’t have to be complicated. I approach each project as an opportunity for story-telling and problem-solving, from start to finish.

With projects ranging from print to digital, illustration to typography, branding, web design, event design and even a smidge of copy-writing, over the years I’ve developed a portfolio of creative agency and freelance work that I hope conveys my heart: for people and projects that make a difference. What is more, I’ve had the opportunity to work closely with clients who have seen and benefited from my skills in communication and desire for fostering relationships. I value small details, strong partnerships, and work that ultimately makes an impact on the community and the world.

Please enjoy my portfolio and drop me a line if you think this is the beginning of a beautiful friendship.
